Would I Like The Medifast Food?

(read Kate's true Medifast testimonial...)

This was a HUGE concern for me. Being on a diet and eating less than I was used to would be bad enough, but eating nasty stuff... like some of the other diet programs gave me... was totally out of the question.

During my research, I found that some people do like Medifast food, while others don't. (I know… that was a brilliant discovery). We all have our likes and dislikes when it comes to food. However, most people agree that the food is much better than what they got on other diets. This program has a variety of shakes, soups and puddings to choose from. Most people find that at least some of them satisfy their taste buds.

I was intrigued to learn how many dieters, after a few days on Medifast, lose their desire to consume unhealthy food, and claim they develop a taste for the nutritionally balanced food of the program. You know what? That happened to me, too.

The folks at Medifast have a solution for picky eaters: If you don't like a meal, you may exchange up to 10 boxes of it for another one of the same price. But you do have to trade   within 30 days of purchase. It's a good idea that keeps you from getting stuck with a bunch of stuff that doesn't taste as good as you thought it might.

Here are some of the answers I got that persuaded me to give Medifast a try:

The taste of Medifast food is far better than any diet food I’ve ever tried. I’ve been yo-yo dieting for more than 30 years, so I’ve tried most of them. You want to be realistic though when you approach any type of diet food. There is no way for a diet company to mimic the same taste as the real food. But Medifast is pretty close, keeping in mind that it is diet food and relatively temporary depending on how much you have to lose. I’ve now been on Medifast Diet for almost 10 weeks and as of yesterday, I have lost 31 pounds. – Defragged

Not everyone will like how all the meal replacements taste. They have sample packs so you can try the products without spending a lot of money right up front. They also have a 30 day return policy so you can still send back any products you may not like long term. – Kay

If you are used to the taste of health food, meal supplements, or meal replacements such as Slim Fast, then you will find most of the Medifast food quite good. However, if you are on the typical American high sugar/high fat diet, then this will be an initial shock for you. It will take some time to get used to, but it will change your taste buds. --Scarlett

Some foods need a bit of extra help with spices, but overall, there’s so much selection, you won’t go hungry. – Lynden

The food is not that great but it is easy to follow and I kept the packets in my purse, desk and in the car so I won’t have to cheat. I lost 35 pounds on Medifast, 3 lbs a week like a clock work. – TS  Aug 4th 2008.

The Medifast food is fine and the routine and prepared foods are a life saver! I lost 15 lbs. – Bev

The protein bars, while certainly not in the same class with peanut M&M’s, are really quite tasty and fill the need when the chocolate monster attacks. – Virginia

The food takes some time to get used to but it is also not full of the fat and carbs we “obese” people are used to. I have lost 11.5 lbs on Medifast in my first two weeks. – Liz

I liked nearly all of the food. It’s not gourmet but it was certainly more than edible. And I lost weight faster on this program than anything else I have EVER tried. I would highly recommend it to anyone. – Robyn
