It's no secret that an active lifestyle leads to weight loss. However, there are a lot of people who don’t have the time to work out on a regular basis and there are many more that don’t have the money to spend on an expensive gym membership.

Do You Have a Dog?
It may seem simple, but owning a dog can really help you boost your activity level. After all, dogs need to be walked on a regular basis. It’s also an activity that many dog owners look forward too.

Yoga can be taken in a class, but you can do it from home too. There are videos and books that will show you how to do the different moves. The great thing about Yoga is that it can not only help you lose weight, but it helps with your flexibility, coordination and it’s relaxing.

Martial Arts
Martial arts aren’t just about fighting--it’s also an amazing way to meet new people. Martial arts can enhance your flexibility, improve your cardio, strength and endurance and a lot of people find it fun. It gives them a goal to shoot for without having to visit a gym.

Good Old Walking
Walking instead of driving can make a huge difference in your waist line. Most of us drive everywhere, including the corner store a block away from our house. Try to make a conscious effort to walk whenever possible. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, walk to the coffee shop to get your morning coffee or take a leisurely stroll after a meal. It won’t be long before you’re losing some of that excess fat!

Swimming offers a number of benefits. Water offers resistance to your movements, which improves your strength. Swimming is an excellent way to improve your cardio and thus lose weight. It’s inexpensive and enjoyable too.
