The Simplest Easiest Way to Lose Weight and Satisfy the Poor Old Ego

I had to face facts. I have a big ego and my gut was the only thing about me that was bigger, so to get my ego off my back the gut had to go.

I had tried various diets and even bought a ridiculous exercise machine off the internet, that of course was going to turn my ailing 46 year old body into the action man that was on the TV swinging gracefully on his ab machine – not.

Then I noticed a friend had markedly lost weight and asked what he’d done, the answer was surprisingly simple, he’d cut sugar out of his diet. He told me the name of the book, Sweet Poison and the author, David Gillespie and I was straight onto the internet and bought the book.

You can stretch your shoulders and chest by either kneeling down or in standing positions. Begin by clasping your hands behind your back and straighten them. Now raise your hands as high as possible and slowly move forward from the waist and hold this position for 10-30 seconds.

The following video shows an even more effective way of shoulder and chest stretching.

2. Shoulder

Are You a Candidate for Bariatric Surgery?

Bariatric surgery encompasses many different kinds of surgical procedures that are performed to vanquish obesity. All these types of surgical procedures involve modifying the size and/or shape of the stomach by either removing a part of it, dividing it with a band or by folding it to make it smaller. According to an article published in The New York Times, the number of bariatric surgeries performed in the United States rose by more than 800% between 1998 and 2004.
Types of Bariatric Procedures

Some of the types of bariatric surgeries are:

Sleeve Gastrectomy – Also known as gastric sleeve surgery, this procedure involves the surgical removal of almost 75% of the patient’s stomach. The open end of the stomach is closed with staples or surgical sutures. The reduced gastric space helps the patient feel satisfied after eating smaller portions of food.

Adjustable Gastric Banding - A silicone band is placed around the stomach to create a smaller gastric pouch. Again, the reduced stomach size allows patients to feel satisfied after eating lesser quantity of food than he/she is used to. This surgery is commonly known as lap band surgery.

Coffee for weight loss: Friend or Foe?

Many of us try to go through all the diet plans that are available in books, the internet and lap up all the information in a jiffy and conveniently forget about it. Losing weight is not easy but most of us do wish that it would have been an easier task to do.

Well, there's some news - for those who enjoy that hot cup of coffee in the morning, as your favorite drink could perhaps help in you losing some weight as some studies have shown that a few cups of coffee intake offers various health benefits and also helps you shed those stubborn pounds.

However, you can knock out the flab if you drink only black unsweetened coffee otherwise you would probably end up gaining with your sweetened coffees with whipped cream. It should be noted that these studies have yet not reached a formal conclusion regarding a positive relationship between coffee intake and weight loss - however, the possibility seems likely!

Because of the poor diets that most of us have lived with a majority of our lives, the number of those now living with Type 2 Diabetes has skyrocketed in recent years. However, eating right with Type 2 Diabetes isn't always easy. The wrong quick snack or too much on one particular item can quickly send your blood sugar spiking which can be lethal while not eating enough can leave you dragging all day long. There are some easy guidelines though that can make sticking to a diabetes diet plan easy, and a few basic rules include:

Watch Your Carbs

Carbohydrates have the most direct impact on blood sugar because they are immediately broken down into sugars by the body. Because of this, most diabetic need to closely count the number of carbohydrates they consume on a daily basis. Complex carbohydrates, such as those found in dark, leafy veggies, are always better than simple carbs, and there are several easy diabetic recipes available online that can teach you how to adequately add them in to your everyday meals.
