Gripmaster Hand Exerciser Review

My aim the last few months has been to build my hand and finger strength because as a fitness and weight-lifter enthusiast I had to develop and maintain my strength, control, endurance, coordination and also my dexterity of this part of my body. I was looking for a hand exerciser which would give me spring resistance for each individual finger.

The “Gripmaster Hand Exerciser” immediately caught my attention because it has a modern design and it would allow me to build isolated finger strength and perform a variety of individual finger exercisers. It was necessary for me to obtain more information about this hand exercise and for this reason at I decided to look at every little  detail of this device.

How does the “Gripmaster Hand Exerciser” work?

In the video below, you can watch a user of the "Gripmaster Hand Exerciser" demonstrating the features of this product and the wide range of different hand and fingers exercises that you can perform on this little piece of equipment.

The Gripmaster Hand Exerciser” is ideal for professional sports trainers, athletes, and therapists because it has a unique ability to provide an effective isolated resistance workout. If you are an athlete, this hand exercise will help you to develop your hand strength. You can train each of your fingers separately and more importantly, you can train your thumb.

They are available in four different color-coded models of graduated resistance. The yellow offers extra-light tension of 3 pounds per finger, the blue is for light tension of 5 pounds per finger, the red is for medium tension of 7 pounds per finger and finally, the black is for heavy tension of 9 pounds per finger. They are perfect for improving finger and hand strength for numerous sports but they are also a great training aid for climbing.

With each gripper, you get an illustrated pamphlet with a handful of exercises you can perform. You can execute pinch grips, trigger squeezes, morse code tapping and other exercises. They are for both men and women. They dramatically increase not only finger and hand but also wrist and forearm strength.

What others are saying? Does the “Gripmaster Hand Exerciser” deliver?

As soon as you get the Gripmaster Hand Exerciser”, you will immediately notice the high-quality construction of this fingertip-level type of strengthener. They can offer you a more complete and balanced grip strength and they are indeed “durable, sturdy and well-crafted” as one user points.

They are ergonomically designed in such a way as to fit in your hands and fingers easily and do not allow your fingers to slip or move around. Exactly because they are very lightweight, small and well-built, you can easily and effectively “workout at home, office or wherever” you like--another user attests.

Bear in mind, that the Gripmaster Hand Exerciser” is ideal not only for athletes and sportsmen, but it is also great for climbers, musicians and for a huge range of activities where finger and hand strength is necessary. An apparently very satisfied customer of this device highlights that after a week of workout with this hand exerciser “his guitar has never sounded so good”.

Will it help me to get better in my sports?

This hand exerciser isolates each of your fingers, gives an individual exercise on each of them  and it also strengthens your forearms, wrists and hands.

While this hand exerciser isolates each finger so it can be exercised individually, it efficiently strengthens the hands, wrists, and forearms. Eventually, such an exercise has huge positive effects on your sports: You will enjoy an astonishing better control of your baseball or softball bat, you will improve your tennis racket control, you will strengthen your weaker fingers when you play golf, you will shoot, dribble and pass with a better accuracy in basketball games. Additionally, if you are a climber you will develop the strength and endurance of your forearm, hand and wrist.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Develops and maintains your hand and fingers strength and endurance for a wide range of activities such as rock climbing, bowling, target shooting, martial arts, yoga.
  • Strengthens your fingers for superior hitting, throwing, and fielding in all sports
  • You greatly improve your guitar and violin performance as you strengthen your hand, wrist and forearm
  • It is comfortable and portable and does not tear your hands up like the metal gripper
  • You prevent any injury as it maintains the suppleness and flexibility of your hand
  • Ideal for accident rehabilitation

Cons

  • For most athletes it will be too easy to close
  • Not so much tension
  • Due to the hard plastic after a while your fingers start to hurt
  • Difficult to accommodate larger than average hands

Problems and complaints

The biggest issue that I encountered is that the Gripmaster Hand Exerciser” is rather easy to use. Actually it does not provide the tension and resistance as advertised because for example the Black Hand Exerciser of the heavy tension and 9 pounds per finger “feels like 1 pound instead of 9”.

Another big issue is that "this exerciser hurts" while you press it. The press downs are made of hard plastic so if you have thin fingers the workout is painful and uncomfortable.

The final point I would like to make concerns the size of the overall unit which seems to be quite small. As a result, a person with big hands cannot properly attach his fingers on the keys as they keep sliding off.

The Gripmaster Hand Exerciser” can improve your computer activity

If your job requires working on your computer and using a mouse and keyboard for a long period of time every day, then this hand exerciser can increase and maintain your hand, fingers and wrist strength. The “Gripmaster Hand Exerciser” is a great way to exercise and condition the hand while releasing some of that workday stress.

You can just take a break from your PC work and start pushing the individual finger buttons and give your hands, fingers and wrists a refreshing workout. In that way, you will increase the blood flow to your hands and you will also refresh the muscles and tendons which are critical when you are pushing the buttons on your keyboard.
